Coaching
Coach Stefanow has coached at FHS for 21 total seasons. From 2000-2007 under Jeff Bemis and returned in 2009 in his current role. Coach Stefanow has been coaching high school sports since 1991 when he began in Windsor in 1991 as an assistant lacrosse coach. The next eight years were spent coaching football, wrestling, and lacrosse as well as one season of girls x-country at all levels at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor. In 2000 he began coaching at Farmington where in addition to football spent seven seasons as an assistant wrestling coach and eight years as the head lacrosse coach. He returned to FHS football in 2009 after spending one year coaching at Hall followed by a year at Lewis Mills with Coach Machol. He is also in his second stint as Head Lacrosse coach here at Farmington after 3 years as an assistant at Southington High School. Following the cancellation of SMSA University High School Wrestling team, where he was the Head Coach, he moved on to become an assistant wrestling coach at Hall High School. Over his many years coaching Stefanow has had a number of athletes who have gone on to participate in college football, wrestling, and lacrosse at the Division I, II, and III levels.
College
Coach Stefanow attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey where he wrestled and played lacrosse.
High School
Coach Stefanow attended Windsor High School where he earned varsity letters in football, wrestling (captain), and lacrosse (captain).
Personal
Coach Stefanow works at FHS as part of their security staff and resides in Plainville. He is a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Phillies.
